Run down to the newsagency to grab the new copy of Russh magazine
Go the to 'Pop the Question' exhibition at China Heights Gallery

I haven't posted anything fashion/ art related in a while so here you go
My tourist uniform of late.
Bicol. Sorsogon. Samar/ Leyte (Feb 3rd-10th)
Bicol.
The Mayon volcano was our view from Joanna's family's home.
At night the crater glows red. It has erupted quite a few times and killed more than
2000 people.
I respect nature and i respect the symmetrical volcano in the world. When you drive
around town you see massive boulders from past eruptions and grey barren land where
towns have perished.
Sorsogon.
Home of the Whale Sharks. Sorsogon is a 3hr (or so) bus ride from Legaspi.
Tourists go there for the Butandings, thats Tagalog for whale sharks.
I am absolutely afraid of sharks so swimming with these bus size mammoths
almost caused me a heart attack. They are so graceful and beautiful. This is
one experience i will never forget. My friend took this photo as it swam past us. SCARY
STUFF!

Samar, home of all things witchcraft, voodoo and Filipino ghost folklore.
Leyte, home of Imelda Marcos.
We jumped off the roof of the ferry. There are normally kids that hang around ferrys. You throw coins in the water and they swim after them. This one kid was jumping off, so we thought, yeah we'll do it too. Tourists rarely go for the plunge. so it was a bit of a spectacle for the locals and the captain.
I think it was about 10 metres high (even higher).
I'm bad with heights. But i jumped anyways. Here's the photo Joanna took of us.

La Union ( Feb 27th- 28th)
After Banaue, Sagada and Bagiuo we took a 4 hour bus ride to the surfing town of La Union.
We swam, they boys surfed and we ate lovely street food for dinner... im glad i didnt get the runs.

Sagada (Jan 24th- 26th)
Sagada is a mountain province in northern Philippines.
We stayed there for a few days.
It was a treacherous 12 hour bus drive along the mountain slopes of the Philippines.
It's such a beautiful place, cold, clean and fresh mountain air. Friendly locals.
Fresh food. A sleepy, quaint, farming town.
If hiking and caving is your thing, go to Sagada. Heck go to Sagada regardless.
If your wondering why there are coffins on the cliffs it is because the Igorot tribe (in Sagada)
believe in Animism. They bury the dead on the cliffs because they believe the earth should carry their spirits and not hold them down in a grave. Some coffins were about 300 years old.

GK Village Grafitti Throw Up
I died when I saw this... It is rare to see awesome graff throw up in the Philippines.
So when I saw this in the Bago Silang Gk Village I almost had a heart attack.
Bago Silang is ghetto town slum village, outsiders would get shot, stabbed killed, raped,
getting your Nokia 3310 stolen from you type of place... It was awesome to see that no one tagged over it... respect!
They commissioned this house to be painted by a Filipino artist, whose name escapes me.

I'm off too see the big bad world ;)
I am flying in 10 hours.
It's 2:30am and haven't slept and I still need to pack a few things. eeek!
I am the worst packer! How about you guys? Do you have the same problems as I?
I always seem to forget to take certain items. Don't you hate that?
I hope you enjoy reading this blog.
I'll try my best to update as much as I can.
Also, let me know if you want more photography post (lomography, Holga shots, fashion eds?)
or art/ illustration posts... or the random fashion collages I seem to be making of late.
I will be in YOUR country... PI, but UK majority of the time, Europe and the last leg... the Americas...
So tell me ... What is the best places to see and the best things to do in your neck of the woods.
I reckon locals always have the best tips and advice.... better than any Lonely Plant guide ;)

THIS UNEXPECTED LOVE: Leica Lovin & Numskull
A few months back my friends and I went to the Numskull exhibition at MTV Gallery.
Simone, brought along her Leica. Bloody awesome camera! It takes the sharpest and
most beautiful pictures.
I'm saving up to buy one of those bad boys, unless of course you want to throw one my
way for free. haha.

Electric Orphans
My jaw dropped at the awesomeness of these illustrations! If you are in Toronto Canada you are very lucky, you'll be able to got to Ben Tour's exhibition at Meta Gallery and it starts today (well tomorrow if your from the Americas and Canada). I am extremly jealous. I would of loved to see the work in the flesh!
Electric Orphans will be on view from January 9 to February 15, 2009. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11-6 and Sunday from 12-5. The opening reception will be on Friday January 9 from 7-10pm. Artist in attendance.
