Revisiting an old DIY

Back in 2007, I was at a fabric store looking for buttons and thread, I came across the
above material and thought it was the most amazing pattern. Obviously, I snapped it up and
made a summer dress. Funny thing is , I rarely wear tube dresses because I feel quite bare
and naked. I don't remember the last time I wore it, I brought it with me to London. Maybe
I should bring it out of the wood work before the summer ends....

DIY: Hoody Dress

So... do you remember this.....

Well, here is my DIY version, I made mine a bit more drappy... What do you guys think... yes or no?

Change of header & DIY Update

I decided to make that Amanda Austin photograph my header... because I like it so much I couldnt resist.

DIY Update:
I finished making the hoody dress last night, I will post pictures soon, Surprisingly, it actaully didn't take that long to make and the pattern wasn't as hard as I expected.

So now I leave all you lovies with this beautiful image of model Lousie Van Der Vorst (yep, she is dating Daniel Johns from Silverchair)..... it makes me want to put lace on my eyelashes....

enjoy.....

I have cob webs on my shoulders

I don't know about you but I reckon this girl's top rocks! I have seen a few DIY fashion takes on the shredded 'Raquel Allegra' look, but by far this girl wins hands down. Do you think she did it herself or bought it at some ritzy boutique?

Meanwhile, I picked up Attitude magazine and they featured this editorial below "Felix hearts Hannah"... I really adore both their outfits. boho chic no?
So last night I dusted off the old sewing machine and got back to sewing. I am inspired by model 'Felix's' cotton jersey vest... however, I'm thinking of giving it a military twist, not sure yet though... I'm half way finished and will post pictures soon.

Burda and Frankie

The Frankie Magazine website (as well as the magazine itself) is choc full of info that always seems to tickle my fancy. They had a post on Burda We love hacking patterns .
Oh Burda, how you bring back memories of year 7 and 8 sewing class in high school; cutting out patterns… sewing not so very straight hems… ah bless
Frankie had a link to Burda Style Open Source Sewing . The site is awesome…. If you’re a sewing aficionado (like yours truly) you should really consider having a look at this website. It has everything from how tos’, sewpedia, patterns and other peoples creations. You could be like Mary from Tampere, Finland and sew up a storm of oh so fashionable garments.
I will definitely stalk this website in the near future…

Sewing

I bought this awesome purple printed fabric from Mounty County..... it was only $4.95 a metre! so cheap and so wonderfull!!!
I needed some inspiration on what to make, once again I thought of making a boob-tube dress with straps, but I thought no, I should try something different..... so i flicked through the pages of the countless magazines in my room......and I found my inspiration.... None other than Miss Nicole Richie...... I really liked the green printed dress she is wearing.... so I thought why not, i'll give it a go....
..... so this is the final product; after four hours of sewing.......its pretty similar, but you can' t really see the rouched waist band, and for some reason the dress looks blue, maybe it's the flash......
