Open Day: Sydney Opera House
A few weeks back SOH had an open day, which a few friends and I went to. It was such a perfect day, sunny Sydney was in full effect.
I forget how beautiful the building is, amazing really. I like the foyers where you can see the skeletal
industrial cement ceiling mixed with wood, such a contrast to the tiled patterned exterior.
I just about died when I saw a mother take a photo of her son via her ipad, too funny.

Unscripted
Right, I'm so excited to announce my friend's first book, Unscripted.
Vicky was in Sydney not long ago, when she told me the news I was and STILL super PROUD of her.
I wanted to tell everyone I know about the news, but for obvious reasons I had to wait.
She described how the book cover would be, and it is exactly how I pictured it in my mind.
It will be coming out in December in all Fully Booked branches. I really can't wait to get my hands on a
copy, and I hope that they ship to Australia!

Safilo New Season Eyewear Media Showings
Yesterday I was invited to view the latest eyewear collections from Armani Exchange, BOSS- Hugo Boss,
Boss Orange, Carrera, Dior, Emporio Armani, Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs.
It was interesting to see what is coming out in the market. The shapes and styles that caught my eye were
non conventional, which took me by surprise as it's not the type of sunnies I would go for. I was drawn purely by the design.
The sunglasses I found most impressive were from Marc by Marc Jacobs: red circular tortoise shell,
which reminded me of bitten apples. Emporio Armani: thick circular frames with a sort of beige/brown
stripe through the dark brown body. Emporio Armani: cat eye like velvet sunglasses, yes velvet, I thought that was quite different to the normal plastic or metal body. Emporio Armani: multi coloured sunglasses, the shape was amazing, circular like Mickey Mouse ears, transparent and space age like. Dior: retro circular sunglasses that remind me of ginger bread men eyes. Hugo Boss: retro cat eye frames and vintage circlular thick framed glasses.
I find it amazing how luxury brands influence the mass market chain stores, this was evident later in the day when I went into Sportsgirl and saw pretty much a replica of Hugo Boss' circular thick framed glasses.
I'd like to thank Skye of Trish Nicol Agency for the invitation, as well as Thomas and Mel of Safilo, it was
lovely meeting you!

The Kills - Blood Pressures Short Film
I absolutely love these guys. I really love their sound, rock and all roll. It always quite interesting
to see how musicians create albums, their inspirations and so on.

Phoenix: From a Mess to the Masses
From a Mess to the Masses - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix from Voluume on Vimeo.
I really can't wait for this doco about Phoenix during their Wolfgang Amadeus album world tour.
I was lucky enough to watch their Wolfgang Amadeus show, with my sis, at Brixton Academy in London.
I remember I couldn't wait to clock off at work. That feeling of excitement; butterflies and anxiousness
mixed with adrenalin. They were amazing live. The light show complemented the sound and ambience.
It's rare for a band to sound super crisp live, and I'm not surprised Phoenix sounded so exceptional.
They are better than amazing.
Jádore.

I'm really digging this editorial for Twin. There's a young love, rock and roll vibe to it.

Woodstock
This is my favourite image from Woodstock 1969. I'm not too sure who took this, so if you know
hit me up. Whoever photographed this girl, captured the perfect moment. Carefree, into the music,
fag in hand and on the shoulders on, perhaps, her man. It's f*cking beautiful.
What I love about the 60s and 70s is not only the amazing music that came out of that era, but also
the social changes that were going on during that time.
