It was a lovely sunny day in Sydney yesterday. Tim and I went to the Annie L
exhibition at the MCA.

I was sort of feeling 'blah' about photography before I went to the show, yet I was
excited to see her work. Let's just say that it exceeded my expectations. You know
how sometimes when you go to a photography exhibition and your somewhat partial
to the images that you see? Well not this one.

I was hit in the face with the most amazing photographs ever created. Most pictures
were portraiture, which I love. I think what appealed to me most was that she captures
a person's rawness and humanity. My favourite photo is a 1994 pic of Johnny D and Kate M.
All this time it was her who shot that image. So when I walked into the first room of the
exhibit and saw it on the wall I had butterflies. I really liked the images she took of Susan
Sontag and Chris Rock, beautiful black and whites.

It restored my faith and passion in photography.

Head to the MCA in Sydney, you have time, it's on till the 27th of March 2011.
