Last Day of 2010

Christmas is over, was it me or did it just fly by?

Last day of magic.
Wow, not long now till 2011.

I must say 2010 was an amazing year, with a touch of sadness. Being that my world tour came
to an end in September. I was so sad and was in denial that I was leaving London. I had an
amazing 1.5 years there. The best years of my life. When people asked what I did over their,
my answer is I lived and experienced the world, met the most amazing people and was thrown
out of my comfort zone.

It was a little strange coming back to Sydney, the air, the light, the smell was different. I felt
like a tourist in my home town. It's like I had a fresh pair of eyes and saw everything anew.
It's a new chapter now. One that I'm excited to live. I get to hang with my best mate, Anna,
pretty much everyday. And I get to see my family, who I love.

2011 will be an exciting ride, because I'm still trying to adjust to Sydney life. New projects are
on the horizon, one that I'm really excited about. Travelling is on the cards again, so I can't
wait to fly out, but unfortunately it be for a while, either way I'm still excited.

Meanwhile, how awesome is this clip. I saw it on Coco Rocha's blog. Rebecca Conran is out
of this world with her creative midas touch. Amazing. I want her to fix my room.

Annie Leibovitz 1990-2005 at the MCA

It was a lovely sunny day in Sydney yesterday. Tim and I went to the Annie L
exhibition at the MCA.

I was sort of feeling 'blah' about photography before I went to the show, yet I was
excited to see her work. Let's just say that it exceeded my expectations. You know
how sometimes when you go to a photography exhibition and your somewhat partial
to the images that you see? Well not this one.

I was hit in the face with the most amazing photographs ever created. Most pictures
were portraiture, which I love. I think what appealed to me most was that she captures
a person's rawness and humanity. My favourite photo is a 1994 pic of Johnny D and Kate M.
All this time it was her who shot that image. So when I walked into the first room of the
exhibit and saw it on the wall I had butterflies. I really liked the images she took of Susan
Sontag and Chris Rock, beautiful black and whites.

It restored my faith and passion in photography.

Head to the MCA in Sydney, you have time, it's on till the 27th of March 2011.

Hair: Fendi Fall 2010

I've been trying to figure out how to do this hair style. I love the retro volume feel about
it. I think of Katharine Hepburn for some reason. I stood in front of the mirror for
about 3 hours trying to work it out. I just should have gone to youtube, would've made
my life easier. Thank goodness for youtube hair tutorials.

from thoughts to bananaink

Bananaink, my best friend's blog. I love the way she writes, because when I read it, it's like she
is in the same room with me talking. I believe she is an awesome writer. So you should check it
out.

It's quite funny because we were in denial of the whole 'best friend' status thingy. We always
referred to each other as close friends. It took us 11 years of friendship and me moving half way
across the world for 1 year and a half, to admit we were best mates.... She is my soul mate and
we just get each other, we are always on the same wave length. I love her. We talk about
anything and everything.

I remember we were having a conversation in my backyard a few months ago, and we saw this
flash of light shoot down from the sky, the colours were amazing; green, red, blue. We weren't
sure if it was a comet, UFO or a satellite dish falling. It was amazing, we also made a wish.

She's my shooting star.

The last road trip I went on was last year, when I was living abroad.
London to Munich for Oktoberfest. It was off the hook. Out of work,
almost broke, but I had the time of my life. We got robbed in Belgium
and extorted in Prague. Stayed at one of the best camp sites i've ever been
to, in Switzerland; snow capped mountains, fresh air, awesome pistachio
chocolate.

I want to go on a road trip and camp somewhere near a beach. It's fitting too
because it's summer in the land down under. Ironically it's been raining for
the last week. But hopefully we'll have a crazy hot summer.
