Eye of the Tiger

You know how they say "eyes are the windows to your soul", I sort of believe it. I had a moment with a tiger I was photographing when I visited Tiger Kingdom in Chang Mai. I went up to the fence, crouched down, adjusted the settings on my camera. While I was looking through the view finder and adjusting the focus, the tiger was looking straight at me. It was disconcerting and I had to look away a few times. I don't think I had feelings of fear or knowing that the he could rip through fence and lunge at my throat- it wasn't that... After I took a few shots we just looked at each other, he was calm and probably curious (and maybe hungry?). We stared at each other for what seemed like 20 minutes, it was an intense vibe and feeling, I have a hard time verbalising that experience but it's like he penetrated my soul.
