Travel Photo Diary: New Orleans
Yep, about time hey? New Orleans, the big easy- anything goes. Sunny and hot, a tad ghetto, the best food I've eaten, the birth of jazz type of place. We slammed so many grilled oyster at Acme, I didn't want it to end, hands down the best meal of the trip. Jazz fest was kicking off, as we were leaving, however so many off shoot events were happening around town which was lovely. We took the tram through the suburbs and were treated to an eye feast of old southern homes, the architecture was beautiful. I felt like I was on the set of 'My Girl'. We were told that the original street cart from 'A Street Cart Named Desire' still does the rounds. We took a stroll through the old cemetery where voodoo queen, Marie Laveau, lays. One place I definitely recommended eating is Parkway Bakery for their Po' Boy sandwiches. Try the Parkway Surf and Turf- slow cooked roast beef with golden fried shrimp, and roast beef gravy. Southern hospitality is alive and well, so if you ever get lost or want tips on good local places to eat, the N.O natives are happy to help.
