Photographer Love: Cass Bird

"If you're not living on the edge then you're taking up too much room"

I've always been a fan of her photography. Rough, rugged and raw, youthfulness and
intimacy resonates through her images. It's like looking through a friends personal
photo album.

Him

I don't talk about him often, even though this is a personal blog, I don't get too personal. But I'll make an
exception, because we've been together for 8 years. He knows me inside out, knows when I'm
bullshitting, can tell when I lie. A typical Tauren; calm, quite, practical, stability is his thing.
I am a dreamer, in la la land and he is a man with a plan. And a bloke with luck on his side.
I'm glad I was able to travel with Tim, we experienced life and the world. I remember writing a travel
contract when we were 20, around the world type of affair. And that we did, even though it
was 5 years in the making. The above photo was taken in Angel, London, where we used to live.
They say travelling and living with your partner makes of breaks you. My time spent in London and
Europe is where I learnt how strong and awesome our relationship is.

Write On

I've always admired great writers; authors, playwrights, rappers, poets even bloggers. To be able to express
themselves in that medium is truly beautiful. There's a rawness and honesty in what they are able to
communicate through words.
Writing is a skill I have yet to master. I've never been the best writer, maybe average? It's because I'm a
visual person. I respond better to visual stimuli, that's why this blog is image heavy. It's why I love
photography, illustration and art. It's why I love to read.

Who knows, one day I may write a book. Or publish a photography book ;)

Cradle Mountain

Cradle Mountain, Tasmania.

Cradle Mountain, Tasmania.

This is where I've been hiding out the last couple of days. Cradle Mountain in Tasmania.
Massive picture post, I know. But everywhere you turn is a Kodak moment. I felt
like I was in Lord of The Rings, Frodo Baggins styles.

It's a freaking amazing place. Snow cap mountains, trekking to your hearts content, amazing
views, wildlife and great food.

Coral

Sydney winter weather is amazing at the moment; blue skies and 23 degrees. Yes, quite warm isn't it.
All this sun is bringing the shade Coral to mind, as it reminds me of summer.... and  bike riding around
Paris. It's a beautiful colour and one of my favourites. I reckon I'll whip this shade out this week and
break away from my normal black, white and grey uniform.
