Your world???

(art work by Nate Reeves)

In the deepest and darkest recesses of our minds and hearts, this is where we store our true feelings and thoughts, our wildest dreams and true ambitions, our depressions and vices, our true loves and our true hates…. Our insecurities….
These feelings and thoughts may never be verbalised to another soul. These thoughts are ours. It may consume us.
These thoughts die with us.

Why don’t we share these intimate and personal thoughts?
Rejection?
Loss?

…..Fear?

Our mind is our world….. complex…poetic.. crazy to some, beautiful to others.
But is what they see merely a projection of what we want them to see?
Is it fake?

…..Real?

Mindanao.... Lock it in Eddie

In about three weeks I will be leaving home to fly back to PI for Gawad Kalinga.
I am excited yet scared at the same time. My sister and I tried to change regions, but it was confirmed yesterday that we are travelling with the Mindanao group. Apparently MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front) will be escorting us.
Tim, I reckon you’re screaming at your computer right now. But don’t worry we should be ok!

Like I said to my sister “God’s will”

Mara and I were having reservations about going to Mindanao; we tried to go to Luzon. I spoke to my Dad about it and he said we should be all right. He actually wants us to go down south; quote “I want you to experience living in fear”. Dead set, that’s what he said.
I’m pretty sure we’ll all be fine. GK wouldn’t allow going there if they didn’t think it was safe.

Diamonds are forever

I just watched Blood Diamond. Wow is all I can say. As you can tell I really enjoyed the movie. Leo did a really good job on the South African accent. I thought it was quite convincing.
After watching the movie, it makes me not want to buy diamond jewellery, but then again I actually wouldn’t buy them because I don’t like them to begin with. I’m not a huge fan of the ‘bling bling’.

When I look through all the jewellery catalogues I receive in the mail and when I walk past jewellery stores, I think to myself “I wonder if these are blood diamonds….. conflict diamonds”.
A couple of days ago there was a documentary on conflicts diamonds. I was really ignorant on how these precious gems were mined. I didn’t realise what type of working conditions individuals experienced while working in diamond mines.

There was one man, whose name escapes me, who was fighting for better working conditions for the African miners. What an angel. We need more people like him in the world. These miners would earn less than a dollar… and these diamonds would fetch up to $500 000 or more.
I really appreciated these two films; it opened my eyes to the ugly side of diamonds.

Fork in the road

Why is it when everything in life can't be any better, a situation arises that forces you to to re-evaluate everything, or re-evaluate a part of your life.
This is the scariest, yet liberating moments.... We have this assumption that we can control everything that is going on in our world.... but this isn't the case. We dont control anything. Life, the mystery that it is, always throws us an odd ball here and there....ah bless...
These "fork in the road" situations can be a major b*tch (at times). They always get you when your off guard (don't you love it!). Sometimes you feel like tearing your hair out trying to figure out what to do. There is always 2 (or possibly more, mainly 2) choices.... 1. Take the road less travelled and take a major risk that can change the course of your life. Or 2. Stay comfortable and continue along your daily routine.
What to do aye...Sometimes I like choosing the latter... but life, as it is, will throw you in the same situation in the future....well... that's what I think. But regardless what choice you make there will be a lesson learned.

Jean Genie

When I go back to PI, I think I might pay a visit to the jean genie.... Viktor.
The only place where I can actually buy skinny leg jeans, that ARE skinny enough to fit my anorexic legs!
The beauty about that store is that it is custom made, raw denim.... I have yet to wash the pair I have now.... eeww.. Those buggers have gone through war.... red wine spillage, numerous concerts, rain..... everything feral.... yum!

I salute you Viktor, you have made my wildest jean dreams come true.... mecca!

Rosa Park Rave

James Dela Cruz
(image from my sister's blog, yep she's so creative!)

I went to Rosa Park Rave at Empire Hotel last night. No, it was not a rave as most people think... My mate James Dela Cruz was dj-ing so we went to see him play. He was awesome, as usual. He played early 90s hip hop.... walk down memory lane...*sigh*
A few of the old Hype DC kids were there too.

I will post pics soon....

For the mean time one word somes up my mind frame at this moment...... "square"

I'm going to buy some film and try my luck with them.... I have reserved a spot for them on my shelf.... my little collectables section...yay!

my birthday....

Heels or flats?
We fed our faces.
Attack of the "stalker"
Catty bitch face ruled the first couple of hours....
stress stress ...
Now I know how stressed door bitches can be.
Jumping up and down with my cousins and friends
A lot of alcohol was splashed on the floor.
We may be older, none the wiser, but we sure still know how to party....

Thank you to everyone that made the night as much fun as it was! love you lots!
